Templates

There are two ways to create pages in Surreal CMS. The first is to duplicate an existing page and the other is to use a template. A template consists of a name, a file extension, and the HTML source of your webpage.

To create a template, open a site and then select Manage Templates from the sidebar. You can have as many templates as you want for each website.

You'll need to enter the following fields.

Name A name for the template.
Description A brief description of the template.
File Extension The file extension to use when creating new pages with the template.
Source The full HTML source of the template.

Once you've created a template, the Create a New Page option will be enabled. If this option isn't enabled, it's because the current website doesn't have any templates.

Warning

Templates are not dynamic. If you edit the source of a template, existing pages will not be affected.
